About Me
My experience over these last 30+ years includes work with individuals and couples, groups and families of varying ages, cultures, sexual identities -- straight and gay -- both in private practice and in a variety of agency settings. Currently, many of my clients are professionals in the arts, finance, law, and health/fitness. Others are students and those outside the mainstream workforce.
I am a graduate of the Hunter College School of Social Work, and have additional specialized training in couple and family systems therapy, as well as crisis & trauma intervention. I hold a postgraduate certificate in Couples Therapy from the Training Institute for Mental Health in New York City. I am a New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
Prior to beginning my own practice in 2003, I held social work and clinical positions in medical and community mental health settings. Areas of focus included employee assistance, families of seriously ill hospital patients, formerly homeless mothers and children, and trauma survivors.

In addition to my practice, between 2007 and 2013 I was proud to serve as the Assistant Director of TherapySafetyNet, an organization of mental health professionals dedicated to making psychotherapy accessible to those who fell into the cracks between Medicaid and private insurance. TSN fulfilled this mission until the advent of ObamaCare in 2014 which has sought to meet that same objective on a national scale.

Thoughts on My Work
I've been privileged to work for many years in the field that I love, with wonderful colleagues, and -- most of all -- with clients who illuminate and inspire my work. Each client relationship is unique, but all are contained within a mixture of warmth, understanding, and humor. I am honored to be entrusted by each of my clients as a guide on such a profound and personal journey.
